Status Update - Simply Race 2.0!

Hey everyone - it's been a while so we thought we'd give you a bit of an update to our progress in bringing the new site to life.

The old Stacey Bushes site looks like we were never there!

Since we announced back in November that we were moving to our new site in central Milton Keynes, the team have been hard at work to hand the Stacey Bushes site back to the landlord whilst simultaneously signing the paperwork and planning the build of the 12th street location.

There was a lot of hard work that went into uninstalling and moving all of the equipment and making the "dilapidations" match our previous landlord's expectations. We want to thank everyone that was able to assist us in this task, you were all a huge help in ensuring the move went smoothly and we'll be able to reopen after this current lockdown.

We can finally confirm the new address of the site (make sure you save this!): Simply Race, Unit G3, 12 Garrick Walk, Theatre District, Milton Keynes, MK9 3PT. For those of you familiar with MK's Theatre District, we are opposite Locked in a Room!

So where are we with setting up the new site? The landlord had some completion works to make the space fit for occupation, which were finished in mid-February to allow our builders in to put in all of the sim centre specifics that we're going to need. Their first job was to open up the space and remove the previous tenant's ill-placed walls, relocate the toilet block and replaster the space.

It may not look like much yet but we're getting there!

Next up? Well there's painting, floor levelling, lighting, running of all the cabling... and that's before we can install a single pod. Importantly, (and this will come as a relief to many of you) we're also having state-of-the-art air conditioning installed to keep the climate well controlled but that will be coming a little later in the build process.

Still plenty of work to do but we are still firmly on-track for opening in line with government guidance on the 17th May. As such, we are re-opening our booking system and you'll receive a 10% discount if you book ahead of reopening (automatically applied at checkout). You can also purchase vouchers if you're not sure when you'll be able to visit.

Currently the booking system is restricted to 6 per group, as per government regulations. However, if you have more than 6 drivers that want to race together, then you can make two or three bookings - we will need to keep you separate in the venue but on the virtual race track there's no such thing as social distancing!
