Simply Race in September!

We’re delighted to be fully open and free of COVID-19 restrictions here at Simply Race, despite being free of restrictions we are still maintaining a high cleaning standard to ensure the safety of our guests, there are lots of big events to look forward to at our new venue in Central Milton Keynes over the next few weeks.

SRES: American cars, Indian track!

After COVID forced us to abandon the 2020 Simply Race Endurance Series after just one round, we’re finally able to get our fifth season underway on Sunday 19th September.

SRES runs over a variety of tracks all over the world in races of varying lengths, for our 2021/22 season opener, we’re using the super-fast Daytona Prototype Cadillac, replacing our long-time favorite, the Oreca LMP2. This is a powerful car that’s a challenge for even the most experienced drivers, and to throw an extra element into the strategy mix, its fuel tank is relatively small, meaning pit stop planning will be vital.

The race will take place over 12 hours on the Buddh International Circuit, host of the Indian Grand Prix between 2011 and 2013. Some top Esports teams like Fordzilla and the ever-present Radicals Online are already signed up, and we have a couple of spots left on the grid. The entry fee is £240 per team (between two and eight drivers), and practice starts at 9am. The race will run from midday until midnight, and will run into the dark. If you want to test yourself against some top sim racers with realistic tyre wear, fuel usage, strategy and daylight, now’s the time to book your place on the grid. SRBC: Who will take the title?

On Sunday 5th September, we’ll be hosting the final rounds of the Simply Race Clio Cup and Touring Car Championships on the Brands Hatch GP circuit. These events will take place one after the other, and we still have spots available for each event for regular drivers and one-off participants alike.

In the Touring Car event in the afternoon, Callum Cripps has a comfortable lead in the points table, although his title win isn’t quite in the bag. As usual Lewis Manley and Matt Richards will be among his main rivals, but there are still some grid spaces on offer for experienced drivers who want to try the cut-and-thrust of touring car racing.

In the morning, the Clio Cup series comes to a close. Ben Brown has already secured the title, but there is bound to be great battles throughout the field on a long, flowing circuit that always generates action. If you’ve got experience of sim driving and you want to try out organised racing for the first time, then a Clio Cup race meeting is an ideal place to start.
