While it’s 3 years since we launched Simply Race to the public, it is 4 and a half years since I started working on the concept and planning to bring our venue to reality.
It has been an amazing three years that has resulted in incredible opportunities, new friendships and, of course, great racing.
Since opening at the end of January 2015, we’ve accrued these statistics:
2017 Leisure Destination of the Year (MK Food and Leisure Awards)
12,192 unique drivers*
647,179 laps driven*
2,241,537 miles driven*
TripAdvisor ‘Certificate of Excellence’ 2016 and 2017
294 x FIVE STAR reviews across the internet (Facebook, TripAdvisor and Google)
Sim Racing Series of the Year (SRES) – Downforce Awards
3 x 24 hour races
Increased number of simulators from 10 to 12, then to 15
*Since September 2015
Personally, I was also awarded Milton Keynes Young Business Person of the Year 2017 at the Milton Keynes Business Awards and I’m returning this year as a judge!
The business has also grown and changed in many ways, we’ve also been involved in the following:
McLaren’s World’s Fastest Gamer (WFG) rFactor2 Technical Support and Replays (Qualifiers)
WFG Finals broadcasters and technical support for rFactor2 and iRacing
Hosting WTF1 during a 24 hour race
Running a number of events in the Middle East
Implemented a number of high-end training simulators
As the eSports events element of our work has increased, I have become increasingly involved in creating a new business, Virtually Entertained, whilst ensuring that Simply Race still gives you the experience you deserve and expect. I have to thank our main event staff, Anthony and Grant, for that.
The PCs we started with barely resemble the ones I built in my workshop three and a half years ago, they’ve undergone some changes:
3 GPU changes
1 OS change
1 Motherboard change
1 CPU change
2 SSD changes
1 Sim change
Whilst they still look the same, it’s a bit like Trigger’s broom!
Here’s to another three years (and hopefully more after that!). We appreciate your custom and we hope to be entertaining corporate groups, stag dos, junior parties, groups of friends, couples and more in 2018 and beyond.
